Bomag Dash 5 Single Drum Rollers Australian Launch

National Distributor for Bomag Compaction Equipment in Australia, Tutt Bryant Equipment is pleased to announce the new single drum roller range to the Australian market. The new generation of single drum rollers feature impressive efficiency, eco-friendliness and straightforward operation on all models.

The new Bomag Dash 5 series of single drum rollers have undergone extensive reforms and product upgrades to meet the demanding requirements of your compaction consumers. The new product upgrades, an area of focus for Bomag was the improved efficiency, safety and eco-friendliness within the new models. In achieving this, Bomag has enhanced the standard Eco mode function reducing fuel consumption by up to 30% whilst delivering the same compaction performance. The new Eco stop function not only saves on fuel, but also reduces engine wear. These intelligent fuel-saving features over the life of the machine effectively pay for themselves by lowering operating costs. In addition they also increase potential resale value as the rollers are in use for fewer actual operating hours.

Models BW 177, 213, 219 and 226 are also available with the optional Bomag Variocontrol. Variocontrol automatically ensures that energy is constantly transmitted and this prevents over-compaction, minimises the number of passes required which in turn increases productivity and the quality of compaction performance. With the new Dash 5 series, Bomag provides a clever new operating concept making it easier for the operator to fully utilise Variocontrol. With a single rotary switch integrated into the arm of the seat, operators are offered the option of manually choosing the required amplitude, or setting it to automatic mode and specifying EVIB values with Variocontrol taking over the amplitude. Clear icons on the control panel allow the operator to see immediately whether he is in manual or automatic compaction mode, providing a clear indication when maximum compaction has been reached.

For the operator, the ease of operation and working ergonomics were given special consideration by Bomag. Additional features include a clearer and more user friendly dashboard, a compact steering wheel and the steering column with individual adjustment providing better visibility of the drum. The operator’s cab is generously proportioned and up to 25% larger meaning the operator always sees what is going on around the machine. Larger windows in turn ensure significantly higher levels of safety added with the reverse camera, twin steering cylinders and thicker drum just some of the new standard features for Australia. A new loading function on the speed switch is particularly practical, making loading and unloading of the new rollers even safer and easier.

Another special highlight is the DH versions which incorporate two pumps. This makes the machines far more stable in operation on steep slopes and provides excellent grade ability of over 60% which is constantly attainable when moving forwards and backwards.
Servicing of the equipment has also significantly become easier. Featuring longer servicing intervals, excellent walk around access to maintenance points and many maintenance-free components (No Greasing Points) ensure high availability of the machine whilst at the same time keeping the costs down.
